Study at Bearley is a beautiful en plein air landscape painting of the view over Bearley towards Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire, England.
This view encourages a very modern painting with the fresh spring landscape seen from the edge of Mill Hill wood.
It was a joy to describe the different types of trees and hills with delicate, suggestive line and tone bathed in the afternoon sun. I love the open space and airiness to this view, as you can see for miles around you to the distant hills.
Sitting and looking from the wood, I have described the landscape with feeling, coming to it afresh and expressing my inspiration directly in watercolour.
It was painted using Winsor & Newton watercolour paints on Arches Aquarelle 140lb 300gsm watercolour paper.

It will be exactly as it is shown but sometimes there will be a very minor variation in the quality of colour due to your computer screen displaying colour (or calibrating) slightly differently from my Apple Macintosh screen.
