View to Chipping Campden is inspired a landscape view from outside Broad Campden to Chipping Campden in Gloucestershire.
One day earlier this year, I made my way to the top of a hill outside Chipping Campden and experienced a great view of lush rolling hills, with colourful fields and trees full of character peppering the horizon that could only be the English countryside.
View to Chipping Campden is a lively watercolour painting in lots of soft, natural colour expressing the beauty of the landscape.
With a lovely atmospheric light that day, I have painted the lights and shadows in a rich variety of marks, from soft edged washes to crisply edged brushstrokes.
With lots of visual interest and variety in this view, you can see I've chosen a wide palette of colours from cobalt turquoise — a spectacular turquoise, to fruity Venetian red, earthy raw and burnt sienna, bright cadmium yellow and ivory black.
It was painted using Winsor & Newton watercolour paints on Fabriano Artistico 300lb 640gsm watercolour paper.

1. What can I expect when I buy?
I will contact you personally to thank you and confirm the details of your artwork, your delivery address and when the parcel will be dispatched.
Having received your payment, I will then go and package your artwork carefully, ready to be posted, including your certificate of authenticity and any other paperwork. Once your parcel is ready, I will post it at the post office as soon as possible.
When I return I will contact you to let you know your fine art is posted and on its way to you and you will receive your artwork shortly.
2. I'd like to see the fine art "for real" before I buy, can I do that?
Yes, you are welcome to try the artwork out in your home before buying for up to 1 week before deciding. Please contact me to arrange.
3. How do you price a Timothy Gent?
Each work is considered individually and priced by:
- Time spent making it
- Size
- Material costs
The above are added together to make a final price - thats it. No extra costs are added and delivery plus handling is free to bring you the best value fine art possible.
4. Will the artwork I receive be exactly as shown on the website?
It will be exactly as it is shown but sometimes there will be a very minor variation in the quality of colour due to your computer screen displaying colour (or calibrating) slightly differently from my Apple Macintosh screen.
So far, I have not had anyone find the colour difference was enough to warrant returning a painting. If you are concerned, I will accept returns within 365 days.
