The Marvel is a vibrant abstract picture: A journey through contrasting light and dark colours and natural textures. In particular, my recent summer contemporary abstract oil pastels on paper are inspired by the flux of natural movement and the urban life around Lancashire's Fylde coast at Lytham St Annes.
The mixture of open sands and seas and the urban environment offers a wealth of artistic influence for me. It's the atmospheric light, the colours, the contrasting sunlight and shade. The mixture of Victorian and modern architectural styles, the memories of place, childhood and the passing of time.
